Dear Glebe Families
As we reach the end of another memorable school year, it is impossible not to reflect with immense pride on all that our children have achieved. This year has been filled with moments that have showcased not only talent and determination, but also the spirit, kindness and ambition that make our school such a special place.
From the unforgettable experience of performing at the O2 Arena and taking to the stage at The Cliffs, to the outstanding sporting achievements celebrated at District competitions and the QuadKids County Finals, our children have represented the school with confidence, enthusiasm and determination. Whether performing, competing, learning or supporting one another, they have continually demonstrated what can be achieved through hard work and perseverance.
Academically, this has been another successful year, with children across the school securing strong outcomes and making excellent progress. These achievements are a testament to the dedication of our pupils, the support of families and the commitment of our staff team, all working together to help every child flourish.
A particularly special moment comes on Tuesday as we say goodbye to our Year 6 pupils. They leave us with wonderful memories, lasting friendships and a wealth of experiences that will serve them well as they begin the next stage of their journey. While we will miss them greatly, we know they are ready for the opportunities and challenges ahead, and we wish each and every one of them every success and happiness in their new schools.
A reminder that our FOGP Inflatables Afternoon has been scheduled for Monday. Children who have purchased wristbands will enjoy all of the inflatable activities, while those not taking part can look forward to a range of fun activities organised in the hall by our staff team, ensuring that everyone enjoys a memorable day.
At the end of the year, we also say farewell to several valued members of staff. Mrs Waggon begins a well-deserved retirement after many years of dedicated service to our school community. Throughout her time with us, she has made a lasting difference to the lives of countless children and families through her care, commitment and unwavering support. We thank her sincerely for everything she has contributed and wish her many happy, healthy and relaxing years ahead.
We also say goodbye to Mrs Rymer, who embarks on an exciting new chapter following the purchase of her new home. We thank her for all she has given to our school and wish her every happiness and success as she settles into her new adventure.
Finally, we wish Mrs Barker all the very best as she begins her maternity leave next week. We know the school community will join us in sending our warmest congratulations and very best wishes to her and her family as they prepare to welcome their new arrival.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the year. We wish all of our families a wonderful weekend as we look forward to enjoying our final two days together next week and celebrating another fantastic year at our school.

Gate Opening Times from September 2026
Please note the new gate opening times, effective from September 2026.
Talbot gate – 7.15am (the only entrance for wraparound care)
Philbrick gate – 8.25am
Creswick gate – 8.30am
Children attending the Premier Education breakfast club on Tuesdays and Thursdays should use the Talbot gate and meet the coach in the undercover Hive outdoor area. The coach will then escort the children into the Lower School hall for the 7.50am start.

Absence Procedure – Reminder
If your child is absent from school, please contact the school before 8.30am on the first day of their absence. An answerphone service is available if no one is able to take your call.
For Resource Base pupils only, please email attendance@glebeschool.com.
Please contact the school before 8.30am on each subsequent day of absence. Please do not use Class Dojo to report absences.
If your child has a medical or other appointment, please email proof of the appointment to attendance@glebeschool.com. If your child will be arriving later in the morning, please let us know their meal option for the day.
Changes to Pick Up Arrangements
If the adult collecting your child changes on a particular day, please do not email the school, as this may not be seen in time. Instead, please call the school so that a message can be passed to your child’s class teacher.

News from EYFS
Wow! How have we got to the last week in Reception already?
This week, we have continued our topic ‘On the Farm’ and children enjoyed using their phonics knowledge to think of adjectives and write descriptive sentences about tractors. They also had great fun designing and building their own fantastic tractors using the Mobilo construction equipment, showing excellent creativity and teamwork.
We have continued to revisit our learned phonics sounds and tricky words, as well as key Maths concepts such as number bonds and doubles.
We finished the week with our end-of-year class party, enjoying lots of party games, food, and some brilliant dancing!
News from the Resource Base
What a wonderful year the children have had! They have worked so incredibly hard throughout the year and achieved many things. This is not just academic progress but also their emotional and social development including their resilience and confidence. We are incredibly proud of the Resource Base children and look forward to seeing them developing and growing through the next academic year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the RB staff for their hard work in supporting the children. They not only adapt their learning so that they can learn alongside their peers, they care for them throughout the day. Thank you all. Finally, a thank you to you, the parents. We thank you for the support you have given us be it through working as a team, helping your child with their homework, and with the new beginnings in September. The RB team would like to wish you all a happy, healthy and restful summer holidays.

For those children whose parents have decided not to purchase a ticket, a supervised indoor alternative will be provided. They will spend the afternoon watching a film, colouring, and playing with toys.
