We understand that choosing the right school for your child is a crucial decision, which is why we strive to ensure that our school is a place where every child feels valued, supported and happy. Our experienced and dedicated staff work tirelessly to provide a range of learning opportunities that inspire curiosity, creativity and critical thinking.
Please take the time to read the following carefully, as it contains important information about the admissions process.
The Local Authority co-ordinates the school’s applications for the normal admissions round and further information can be found at Essex Schools Admissions
All mid-year applications should be made directly to the school, using the mid-year application form available on our website and the school office. Once completed, can you please email the form to Mrs Camy at admin@glebeschool.com. Mid-year applications (sometimes called in-year applications) are any application for a school place made to a year group, apart from September admissions to Reception.
For applications into existing year groups, a place will be offered when the number of pupils in the relevant year group is below the admission number for that year group.
Please note: if a mid-year application is received during a school holiday period, we will respond as soon as possible when the school reopens.
When applications exceed the number of places we have available, and after the admission of pupils with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) where Glebe Primary School is named in the EHCP, the following criteria will be applied in ranked order:
1 Looked After Children and previously looked after children.
2 Children living in the priority admission area with a sibling attending the school
3 Other children living in the priority admission area
4 Children living outside the priority admission area with a sibling attending the school
5 Children of teaching and non-teaching staff who have been:
employed at the school for two or more years at the time of application for the school place; or
recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage
6 Remaining applications.
In the event of over subscription within any of the above criteria, priority will be determined by straight line distance from home to the school, those living closest being given the highest priority. Exceptional medical circumstances, supported by medical evidence, may override the above (other than Looked After Children and previously looked after children).

Welcome to Reception 2024-2025
We are all aware of how important the Primary School years are in the development of our children. It is a wonderful learning period in their young lives, when they will encounter exciting experiences, learn new skills, extend those already learned and increase their knowledge of themselves and the world in which they live.
If you are interested in September 2022 intake, please feel free to look at our transition work and video and do not hesitate to contact the school for further information regarding both our Nursery and Reception classes.
We are pleased to now confirm that our Open Evening will be on Thursday 18th November from 6 – 8pm. Entrance to the school will be via Creswick Avenue only. There is no need to book an appointment, please feel free to come within those times. We look forward to welcoming you to our school!
Reception & Nursery Welcome meeting PowerPoints
We are delighted that you have chosen to send your child to Glebe Primary School Nursery and look forward to welcoming you shortly.
Nursery is such a wonderful start to their learning journey, where they will encounter exciting experiences, develop new skills and increase their knowledge of themselves and the world in which they live. Throughout, they will be provided with an enriching environment, where learning is fun and interactive.
In due course we will be inviting you to a meeting to inform you of all the key information you will require to give your child a positive transition into our nursery. At this meeting you will be given a ‘Welcome’ pack and details of your child’s stay and play sessions.
We look forward to meeting you in the near future.
