Dear Glebe Families
Wow, what a week we’ve had! It’s been fantastic to welcome so many Year 4 and 5 parents into school for lunch over the past few days. A particular highlight was Thursday’s VE Day celebrations, where the children proudly shared their learning and marked the occasion with real enthusiasm and respect.
Year 1 have also been busy adventuring, enjoying a brilliant day out at Call of the Wild. Their wildlife explorations sparked curiosity and excitement, and it’s been lovely to hear them share their experiences back in school.
This evening sees our Friends discos and parties, always a highlight in the school calendar! We’re sure the children will have a wonderful time dancing, laughing and celebrating together.
Today, I’ve had the opportunity to attend a training conference with The Two Johns, focusing on cyber safety, online security and the rapidly developing use of AI in education. It’s been incredibly informative and I look forward to sharing what I’ve learned with our staff team and weaving this important knowledge into our wider curriculum.
Looking ahead, next week marks the start of the Key Stage 2 SATs. We want to send our very best wishes to all our Year 6 pupils. These assessments are just one snapshot of your journey; not a full picture of your talents, kindness, creativity, or character. We are proud of each and every one of you, and we know you’ll approach the week with determination and resilience.
Finally, a gentle reminder to complete the Microsoft Form to let us know who will be joining us for our Sports Afternoon and Picnic on 23 May, we’d love to see as many of you there as possible.
Wishing you all a restful and happy weekend. I look forward to seeing you on Monday.
Warm regards
Mr Clarke

News from the Resource Base
We have had a lovely week in the Resource Base this week. Some children enjoyed a school trip, others enjoyed parent lunch events and all of the children have been discussing Deaf Awareness Week. Mr Bysouth has been in to guide and teach the children how to thoroughly check their hearing aids and cochlear implants which was then followed by Miss Neame discussing with the children what they thought ‘Deaf Awareness’ means. We brought the week to a close with a Deaf Awareness morning where we used artwork and signed stories to celebrate our d/Deaf identities. This will displayed within the school. Please speak to the children about this at home so that they can tell you what we spoke and signed about.

Fortnightly Focus: Supporting Others – Linked to the British Value of Tolerance
What is Tolerance?
Tolerance means being kind and respectful to everyone, even if they are different from us. It’s about understanding other people’s feelings, listening to them and treating them how we would want to be treated.
Over the next two weeks, we are going to learn all about Supporting Others. This helps us show tolerance, which is one of the British values we follow in our school. When we support others, we are being kind and fair, and this makes everyone feel happy and included!
