Dear Glebe Families
Welcome back! I hope you all had a lovely and restful half term break. We were thrilled to see everyone back this week, even though the “Quaddemic” of bugs has truly made its mark. We sincerely thank you for your patience as we navigated some significant staff absences. We have been very impressed by how the children have adapted and their resilience is commendable.
It was wonderful to hear such positive feedback from many of you at the parents’ evening this week. For those classes that didn’t have the chance to meet, don’t worry, we will be offering another opportunity when class teachers return.
We also want to extend a warm welcome back to Mrs Law and Mrs Turp, who have been covering classes in Year 2 and 3. A huge thank you to Mrs Hobbs and Mrs Winslade, who have both done a fantastic job leading the learning in those classrooms this week.
Year 6 had an exciting visit to Duxford today as part of their World War topics. What a fantastic enrichment experience for them!
Looking ahead, next week promises to be just as exciting. We will be welcoming our Governors into school, catching up with our leadership team, and, of course, celebrating World Book Day with plenty of fun activities!
Thank you for your continued support.
Warm regards
Mr Clarke

ECS Attendance Consultancy
At Glebe we are committed to ensuring that every child has full access to their education. As part of this, we will be driving forward improvements in pupil attendance and working to reduce persistent absence. We believe that regular school attendance is vital for each child’s success and wellbeing.
We expect all pupils to be in school every day and on time, unless they are genuinely too unwell to attend. Consistent attendance is crucial for their progress and we appreciate your ongoing support in making sure your child arrives at school ready to learn.
To help us further enhance our support for families and ensure all children have the full time in school they are entitled to, we are working with ECS Attendance Consultancy. ECS are highly motivated professionals with a “can do” attitude, drive and determination to achieve outstanding results. Their team is passionate about improving attendance and making a positive impact on the outcomes for young people.
ECS has a strong track record of achieving successful outcomes for children, schools and families. Their reputation for being passionate, effective and results-driven ensures that we are taking the right steps to support our pupils and get them back to school whenever possible.
Together, we can help every child reach their potential by ensuring they attend school regularly and on time. In the coming weeks, they will be communicating directly with families and working to improve attendance, on our behalf. Please ensure you engage positively with the team. Thank you for your continued support in this important matter.
Fortnightly Focus: Walking Away
This fortnight, we’re focusing on a very important skill: Walking Away. Sometimes, when we feel upset or frustrated, it can be hard to stay calm. In these moments, we might want to shout, argue, or say something hurtful. But one of the best things we can do is walk away from the situation.
Walking away doesn’t mean ignoring the problem or giving up. It means taking a moment to cool down, clear our heads and make better choices. When we walk away, we show tolerance – one of the British values that we believe helps us all live together peacefully.
Here’s how you can practice walking away:
When we walk away, we show tolerance for others by respecting their feelings and letting them have their space. Tolerance means accepting and understanding each other, even when we don’t always agree. By practising walking away, we’re helping to make our school a kinder, more respectful place where everyone feels safe and valued.
