Dear Glebe Families
Another busy week has flown by at Glebe! During Monday’s assembly, the children learned all about the importance of good attendance. We discussed how everyone can be an “Attendance Hero” by being in school, on time and ready to learn. Watch this space as we introduce our fun attendance characters: Punctuality Pete, Tilly On-Time, Artie Attend and Anya Arrive, in the coming weeks!
We were delighted to welcome several prospective parents on tours of the school this week. It was wonderful to meet so many members of our community, all of whom had such positive things to say about Glebe. We look forward to hopefully welcoming their children into our Nursery and Reception classes next September. Don’t forget, if you know anyone searching for a primary school for next year, our Open Evening in November will be a great chance for families to visit the school and meet our team.
On Wednesday evening, all our teachers and HLTAs attended the first part of our TPP (Trauma Perceptive Practice) training. We are excited to continue our journey in becoming even more attachment-aware and look forward to sharing a culture of compassion, kindness, hope, belonging and connection with our entire community. Our inclusion coffee morning is a perfect opportunity to learn more about this approach, so please do join us if you have any inclusion-based questions or simply wish to connect with like-minded families. More details can be found at the bottom of the newsletter.
Looking ahead, next week promises more excitement. Year 4 and Year 5 will enjoy a visit from “Portals to the Past,” road safety training kicks off and our leadership team will be participating in exciting training focused on enhancing schools with resource bases.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend; wrap up warm, as it seems Autumn has arrived with a vengeance!
Warm regards
Mr Clarke

Fortnightly Focus
Our focus for the next two weeks is on taking responsibility, which is closely connected to the British value of the rule of law. Laws are like the rules of a game, helping everyone know what’s right and wrong so we can all live safely and happily together. When we take responsibility, we make sure we’re following these rules and doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. This helps keep our community fair and safe for everyone and shows that we care about the wellbeing of others as well as ourselves.
Music Moment of the Week
The music moment for this week was Katy Perry’s song, Resilient. It is an uplifting and motivating song from her 2020 album, The Smile. Watch this award winning video that accompanies the song.
Influential Figure of the Week
Our influential figure this week was Helen Keller, who became deaf and blind aged one, after a childhood illness. She became an author and activist and a fearless advocate for disability rights as she fought to prove that people with disabilities could still live normal lives. She was the first deaf and blind person to graduate from university. She authored a number of books and stood up for women to receive the vote. Today, Helen Keller is remembered for her resilience, perseverance and tenacity.
