Headteachers message

What an enormously busy week we’ve had!

A huge Well Done to Year 1 children who have taken their phonics screening check this week. We are incredibly proud of all of you. Year 4 have also sat their multiplication check this week. Again, they have been incredible and they have practiced so hard.

In other news this week, children from across Upper School participated in the District sports on Thursday. We were amazed by your commitment and impressed by your team camaraderie. Again, you did us proud team Glebe! (Especially in that heat!)

This morning, I have enjoyed being at the Cliffs with the choir who have worked hard in preparation for the SEESMA Junior music festival. The songs are wonderful and they acoustics of the theatre are amazing. I can’t wait to see the final production tonight.

Wishing all those celebrating on Sunday, a Happy Fathers Day. Thank you for all you do for the children and enjoy your day celebrating with the special people in your lives.

Have a lovely weekend. See you on Monday!

End of Summer Term
School closes for Summer on Thursday 20th July.

Phones from September

We have had an increasing number of issues outside of school that are being brought into the classroom. Our priority is to educate and support which we will do. That said, we also have a duty to safeguard all children. To ensure a culture of trust and safeguarding, any child bringing their mobile device into school, from September, will be required to hand them to their class teacher, who will safely store them in a locked cupboard. This is not unusual practice and is common place in many primary settings. If you would rather the class teacher did not safely store your child’s phone during the day, then please do not send them to school with a mobile device. Thank you for your co-operation.

Trading cards

A number of children enjoy trading cards, such as Pokemon and football stickers. Unfortunately, the school cannot be responsible for any swaps that pupils make. Please have a discussion with your children regarding sensible trading/swaps if they choose to bring cards into school.

Year 6 Productions and Leavers Assembly
Year 6 Leavers Assembly will be on Wednesday 19th July at 2:00pm.

The Year 6 end of term production will be on Wednesday 5th July at 2pm and Thursday 7th July at 6:30pm.

Curriculum focus – Our week in photos

Year 3 enjoyed using the interactive headphones to immerse themselves into their topic about the Roman Empire!

The children in the choir went for a rehearsal at the Cliffs Pavilion this morning to practise for the Music Festival tonight, I think it’s going to be amazing from what we’ve heard this morning!

Congratulations goes to Antonio H-M for taking part in the Ride London Cycling event during the half term with his family. He completed 2 laps of the route and cycled 16 miles in total around Central London. Most importantly,  all the family loved it! Well done Antonio!!
