Dear Glebe Families
Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful break.
This week, we are pleased to announce that we have welcomed two new staff members to our Resource Base. Mr Thompson has joined us as a Learning Support Assistant and Mrs Holahan has taken on the role of Teacher of the Deaf. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to both of them.
Additionally, we are excited to welcome Miss Choudhry, who will be working alongside Mrs Squires as she transitions back into the classroom after a period of illness and recovery. It’s lovely to see Mrs Squires back with us!
Our Year 6 students enjoyed their first swimming lessons at Sweyne Park this week and it was a great success. We also had the pleasure of meeting our new Reception parents for September during their meeting with the Early Years team today. It was wonderful to connect with all of you.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
Warm regards
Mr Clarke

Fortnightly Focus – Individual Liberty/Communicate What You Want Appropriately
Individual liberty is so important because it means that we all have the freedom to be ourselves and to express our thoughts and feelings in a respectful way. When we respect each other’s individual liberty, we create a world where everyone feels valued and included. And when we communicate what we want in a respectful way, we can work together to solve problems and build strong, supportive relationships.
Remember, everyone, that individual liberty and communicating what you want appropriately are important British values that we should all try to live by. Let’s all strive to be kind, inclusive and respectful of each other’s thoughts and feelings. Together, we can create a world where everyone feels free to be themselves and to express themselves in a way that brings us closer together.
Music Moment of the Week
Name of song: All You Need is Love
Composer: Beatles
This week’s music was composed by ‘The Beatles’. ‘The Beatles’ were one the most famous bands who performed during the 1960s. They were ordinary young men who shook the world with their music. They influenced and inspired many musicians. In this song, ‘The Beatles’ remind us that our loved ones can help support us through challenging and difficult situations.

Look how smart our PE uniform is! As a team, we have noticed that some of our children have taken to wearing designer wear and kit that is not our school colours. We mentioned before the holiday that we would be monitoring this after the break. We expect all of our children to be dressed in the appropriate PE uniform for their PE lessons. No exceptions. As part of the agreement that parents sign to be a member of the Glebe community, we all agree to be dressed smartly, appropriately and in the correct uniform at all times. If you require any assistance with this, please do contact the Friends of Glebe pre-loved shop or speak to a member of the school leadership team. We need to role model Excellence – one of our values! Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing all children in the correct PE uniform next week.
Well done to Charlie W for winning the ‘Member of the Month’ certificate for continued growth and excellence in self defence training.
Ella E and Elsie E recently took part in their gymnastics club in-house competition. It was Ella’s first ever competition and Elsie’s third. They both performed beatifically on the floor and during their vault. Ella came away with a Silver medal and special award and Elsie achieved a 1st place Gold medal and trophy. Well done, girls, we are all very proud of you both!
Congratulations to Amber F who competed on Sunday in the Essex Gymnastics Competition in Colchester, representing South Essex Gymnastics Club and was proud to come 3rd for beam and 4th for her floor routine. She has qualified for the Regional Gymnastics final in July!
