Headteacher’s Message

Dear Glebe Families

Can you believe we’ve reached the end of another term already?  Though shorter, it’s been just as bustling with activity!  As we gear up for the Summer term, there’s plenty to anticipate: sports day, the junior music festival, Year 5 and 6 parent lunches and the Year 6 leavers’ productions.  Final dates for these events are being confirmed and will be shared upon our return.

As we bid adieu to this term, we also bid farewell to some beloved members of our staff.  Miss Hembling embarks on a new journey in a special school, Mrs Walker transitions to a SENDCo role in another local authority and Mrs Pipe heads off for some well-deserved leisure time.  We extend our heartfelt thanks for their dedication and contribution to our Glebe journey and wish them success in their future endeavours.  You will all be missed hugely!

This week, Year 2 had a delightful time making pizzas and visiting Barleylands to see animals; we warmly welcomed back Mrs Howard, who will be joining 2VC after Easter.  Additionally, Year 6 have relished a week filled with activities, both at Danbury and here at Glebe.  Personally, it was a joy to accompany Year 6 at Danbury on Wednesday.  The children showcased exemplary behaviour, collaborated brilliantly and displayed admirable resilience, humour and bravery.

As we approach the Easter break, I encourage you all to take this time to relax and rejuvenate.  You’ve earned it!

Warm regards

Mr Clarke

Fortnightly Focus – Discard Negative and Unhelpful Comments (w/c 15 April)

In the journey of growth and progress, not every comment or feedback leads us forward.  As we navigate our paths, let us learn the art of discernment, gracefully discarding unhelpful comments.  Embrace the constructive, cherish the supportive and let go of the rest.  For in doing so, we empower ourselves to focus on what truly propels us towards excellence.

Achievements

Congratulations to Ashling M in Year 3/4 and Aideen M in Year 6.  The girls got their new sash at Kung Fu with Aideen moving to blue and Ashling moving to green.

Year 5 Football

On Tuesday, the boys’ football team played Our Lady of Ransom in a league match.  With our Year 6 on their residential, it was down to the Year 5 pupils to represent the school and they rose to the challenge gallantly!  Playing against a predominantly Year 6 team from OLOR, the team won 5-2.  Well done to all the boys and we look forward to building a good school team next year.
