Headteacher’s Message

Dear Glebe Families

Lots to celebrate this week so let’s take a look at some of the incredible events that have taken place:

Lots of fun was had by all the children at the discos last Friday.  Thanks to the Friends of Glebe for organising these.

Year 2 had their enrichment event and bring your parent to lunch today and yesterday.  It was great to see so many happy faces!

Children in Need today and it’s been lovely to see the children participating so enthusiastically whilst being dressed so brightly!  It’s been spot-tacular!  It’s a great cause so thank you for joining in the fun.

Thanks to Miss Redwood for organising today and also huge thanks to our fantastic catering staff for providing goodies for the bake sale!

Well done to the girls who enjoyed their time footballing on Wednesday.  They played brilliantly.  A massive thank you to Mrs Norman and Miss Mitchell for organising, coaching the girls and cheering them on.

We would like to remind parents about Open Evening next Thursday.  Please let any friends or family starting school next year know all about Glebe.  We are welcoming families between 5.00pm and 7.00pm and teachers will have already started to invite some of our LEARN role models to help.  Don’t forget an earlier close this day.  Next Friday is an INSET day so school will be closed.

We are starting to enter the Christmas period so we look forward to seeing you all for decoration day on 6 December and the performances which follow.  January dates will be shared very soon for more jam-packed adventures and fun events.

Have a lovely weekend; stay warm and for those attending, enjoy any of the Christmas light switch on events that are beginning.

Warm regards

Mr Clarke

Achievements

We are very proud of Riley H who took part in the Remembrance Sunday parade with his Beavers group.

Lottie L, Leo L, Barnabas T, Leo W, Jenson F, Henry S, Oliver P, Edie P and Alexander T-C from the 5th Rayleigh Scout group also marched in the parade on Sunday and should be very proud!

Congratulations to Jessica F who has made her rainbow promise.

Well done to Ruby G for the certificates she received for gymnastics.

Also, well done to Lily-Rose G for her fantastic effort in the gymnastics competition.

Elsie E entered the BBC 500 words story competition and received a certificate.  Well done!

Ella E was also inspired to enter the BBC 500 words story competition.  Over half term/Halloween, she wrote her own story with a lovely message running through it about being unique and different.  We are really proud of her!

Class 2VC Igloo Models

Class 2VC worked extremely hard making igloo models out of everyday recyclable rubbish.  They were both enthusiastic and creative in their models and the final products were amazing!

Nursery Rhyme Week

The EYFS children and staff enjoyed dressing up on Wednesday for their Nursery Rhyme week!

Year 1 and Year 5 Wonderdome

Our Year 1 and Year 5 students were treated to a visit from the Wonderdome as part of their topics.  This immersive experience allowed our children to delve deeper into their learning and broaden their horizons.

Eco Warriors of the Month

Carter in KS1 and Cody in KS2 went above and beyond to tidy up around their local area, collecting lots of rubbish and making it nicer for their community.  We are so proud of them and both have earned 5 DoJo points!  Well done boys, keep up the great work!

Well done, Mrs P!

We would like to extend our congratulations to Mrs P for her incredible fundraising efforts.  She recently took part in an abseiling event and the photos capture her bravery perfectly.
