Headteacher’s Message

Dear Glebe Families

As we reach the end of another busy and successful half term, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support.

This half term has been full of learning, enrichment opportunities, achievements and memorable moments for our children.  None of this would be possible without the strong partnership between home and school.  Your support, encouragement and engagement make a tremendous difference, and we are incredibly grateful for the trust you place in us every day.

A particular thank you to all the families who attended parents’ evening.  It was wonderful to see so many positive conversations taking place and to celebrate the progress, achievements and next steps for our children together.  The evening had a genuinely positive atmosphere, and we greatly value the opportunity to work in partnership with you to support every child’s success.

As we come to the end of the half term, we would also like to say farewell to Mrs Grant, who is leaving us to begin an exciting new chapter in her career.  Mrs Grant has been a valued member of our school community, and we know many children and families will have benefited from her support and care over the years.  On behalf of everyone at Glebe, we thank her for all she has contributed to our school and wish her every happiness and success in her new adventure.

Most importantly, I hope that you and your families have a wonderful half term break.  I hope this provides an opportunity to rest, recharge and enjoy some quality time together, whether that is through days out, visiting loved ones or simply enjoying a slower pace for a few days.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support of our school.  We look forward to welcoming the children back after the break, refreshed and ready for another exciting half term of learning.

Warm regards

Mr Clarke

News from EYFS

What an amazing first half term we have had in Reception.  We have thoroughly enjoyed welcoming all our new families to our Early Years classes at Glebe and are so proud of how all the children have settled in.

This week we finished our half term with lots of talk about Autumn and reading The Leaf Man and learning about leaf art.  Next half term we will start our new topic ‘Celebrations’ which is packed with many things we celebrate including Bonfire night and fireworks, Diwalli, Remembrance Day and of course we finish with Christmas.

Have a lovely half term break everyone.

News from the Resource Base

The children have had an amazing half term and have all worked incredibly hard.  We thank you for all your support as the tier model settles with tweaks being made to ensure children are supported and accessing their learning.

It is with sadness that we say goodbye to Mrs Grant today.  She is off to adventure new working with young adults who are deaf, blind, and/or have additional needs.  Goodbye Mrs Grant, thank you for all you have done for us.  With this in mind, our sign of the week is adventure.

Influential Figure – Josephine Baker

Josephine Baker was an American-born dancer, singer, and actress who became one of the most famous entertainers in France.  She overcame many challenges in her early life and went on to inspire people around the world with her talent, courage, and determination.  During the Second World War, she helped the French Resistance, and later she supported the civil rights movement, speaking out against racism and inequality.  Today, Josephine Baker is remembered not only for her performances but also for her bravery and commitment to making the world a fairer place.
