Headteacher’s Message

Dear Glebe Families

I am delighted to have shared with you the exciting events that have taken place at Glebe this week as we kick off the festive season.  Our decoration morning was a resounding success, with both children and adults coming together to spread Christmas cheer.  It was fantastic to see our incredible staff dressed up and fully embracing the festive spirit.  The joy and laughter that filled the air truly encapsulated the magic of this special time of year.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those who joined the Resource Base team and supported their production.  The hard work and dedication shown by the children was exceptional and their enthusiasm was truly contagious.  It is wonderful to witness their growth and development, both as individuals and as part of a team.  Their confidence grows daily, a huge well done to them!

Yesterday, our Year 3 and 4 students embarked on an unforgettable trip to the Science museum.  The look of fascination on their faces and the countless enquiring questions they asked were truly a sight to behold.  Whilst the coach journey was marred by horrendous traffic jams, the festive spirit prevailed with Christmas songs, Mrs Johnson’s entertaining tour guiding and quizzes and the 3/4 staff’s rendition of ‘Sweet Caroline.’  We must also give a special mention to Mrs Dart, who captivated the children with her enthralling stories, leaving them on the edge of their seats, yearning for more.

Our Year 5 and 6 students did a fantastic job at the Church, spreading even more festive cheer.  With each passing minute, the festive spirit grew stronger, creating a truly magical atmosphere.  I am incredibly proud of our students’ commitment and dedication to their performances and I am certain that they brought joy to all who watched the true meaning of Christmas.

Looking ahead to next week, we have a plethora of exciting events lined up.  Our children will be involved in more productions, the Elf Emporium will be open for business and the Friends of Glebe have organised the annual Panto.  We are also eagerly anticipating Christmas jumper and dinner day, as well as Santa’s Grotto.  As we enter our last full week of term, let us make the most of these festive activities and cherish the memories we create together.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
